Bertier Luyt is a professional maker-entrepreneur, creative technologist, self educated, father of two kids. Bertier is a serial entrepreneur and an advocate of empowerment, he is a prominent leader of the Makers movement and a figure of la French Tech. Prior to Techstars, Bertier founded le FabShop in 2012, a digital workshop specialized in 3D printing. Le FabShop provided services for Cartier, Louis Vuitton, L’Oréal, Airbus, Google France, the Palace of Versailles or Renault. Bertier is the co-founder of Digital Saint-Malo an entrepreneur union in his home town in Brittany where he lives with his 2 kids. His latest book “Make: design for 3D printing”​ was released in the US in Sept 2015. After a career in music, he pivoted into interior design in the early 2000’s, an activity for which he started using 3D modelling software. In 2011, Bertier launched leFabShop, a digital fabrication studio and a community company, early 2012 in France. le FabShop has been leading the 3D printing revolution in France, focusing on design, materials, programming for the future of making things. Bertier Luyt imported Maker Faire in France in 2013. It’s work has been featured in international press from Wired to Time Magazine, and licensed by Google for Chromebook 2015 commercial. Bertier is a speaker at different conferences such as MakerCon, TEDx, Hello Tomorrow or Trimble Dimension. His favorite topics are digital manufacturing, self-empowerment and entrepreneurship. Bertier organize Art of Faire, a conversation between artists, makers and technology, and Digital Makers Meetup that focus on design.
